Case Closed: A Photo Shoot on the Orient Express

DAREstudios recently boarded the iconic Orient Express - along with our client Maxwell Scott - or did they? The mystery deepens! While it may appear that we embarked on a lavish journey aboard a historic train, in reality, the entire scene was a meticulously crafted set build within the walls of our Leeds studio.

To bring this vision to life, our team embarked on an ambitious three-day set build, recreating a full-scale Victorian railway dining car with stunning attention to detail. The set design aimed to capture the luxurious charm of 19th-century travel, featuring plush upholstery, polished wooden paneling, and ornate brass fittings, all carefully selected to create an immersive and authentic setting.

Lighting played a crucial role in enhancing the atmosphere of the shoot. To evoke the warm glow of vintage train carriages, we used a combination of soft, ambient lighting and strategically placed practicals, such as antique-style sconces and table lamps. This not only highlighted the exquisite leather craftsmanship of Maxwell Scott’s latest luggage and accessories but also added a cinematic depth to every frame.

The studio setting allowed for precise control over every element of the shoot, ensuring that each product was showcased in the best possible light—literally and figuratively. The set provided the perfect backdrop for the working traveler, also known as the Digital Nomad, who values both style and functionality in their journey.

By merging expert set design with high-end photography and carefully curated lighting, DAREstudios transformed a simple studio space into a first-class experience, capturing the essence of luxury travel without ever leaving Leeds.
